39 & 40: dork

Trying to catch up, while being a dork and talking to Adam online.

38: tango shoes

While I was home, I spent a day with Daniella, my friend from high school. We went to Target where I found these amazing shoes. Now I just need an excuse to wear them...

37: fisheye christmas

I got a fisheye lens for Christmas. I'm so excited to play around more with it.

36: christmas eve dinner

We had Christmas Eve dinner at my house, as usual. I took this at the table because I had my camera out and hadn't done a 365 yet. Kind of lame, but oh well.

Dinner was really nice though. I was afraid it might be weird since my Grandpa had died just over a week beforehand, but it ended up being a really fun time. I ended up getting dragged to the midnight church service despite the fact I was exhausted. I was hoping to avoid it, but I suppose it wouldn't be Christmas Eve without my sister and I trying to hold in laughter at the ridiculous lines in the sermon.

22 December 2008

35: puppy love

I'm back in IL for awhile for the holidays. My dog, Sammy, did not seem very excited for his debut appearance in my 365.

21 December 2008

34: sorry gingerbread man

Took this quickly after taking a ridiculous Christmas photo with Adam.

18 December 2008

33: bangs

I got a haircut yesterday. That piece of my bangs is going to drive me nuts.

17 December 2008

32: monkey mittens

First Christmas present: sleepy monkey mittens!

This was going to be a diptych or triptych but I am having technical difficulties, ugh. Hopefully I can resolve those and upload what I wanted later. For now, it's back to my senior thesis. Due in 2 days...can't wait! I missed a few days because I went home unexpectedly (my grandfather died) and didn't have time or feel like doing this, but I'm back and determined to stop slacking!

EDIT:

What I wanted to post originally.

12 December 2008

31: what do you want?

31/365 what do you want?

Yeah, I've been slacking but I was sick and had finals, so too bad.

I got the shirt and skirt yesterday at the mall. I took myself out on a date and it was fabulous. I haven't done that for a really long time. I went shopping, got dinner, then saw Australia. It was nice to spend time alone not in my house.

10 December 2008

30: dear chicago, you'll never guess...

This didn't turn out like I wanted it too, but then again, I spent about 7 minutes on it. It's an homage to one of my favorite pictures of Ryan Adams, taken before I saw him open for Oasis on Wednesday. And yes, I am lighting my cigarette with my wireless remote.

The show was pretty damn good. My friend Zack came with me at the last minute and I hadn't seen him for awhile, so that was good. I was hoping the band would play more old stuff since I haven't picked up Cardinology yet, but it all sounded good. And no tantrums, that's always a plus ;) I'd still rather see a headlining show though...

29: hannukah 2010

Hannukah is so late this year that none of my roommates or I will be here, so we're celebrating Hannukah 2010 which starts on December 1st.

28: mormons, the constitution, and polygamy...oh my!

One 20 page paper down, one to go...plus a 10 page one...gah

27:

I'm so tired of this semester. One week to go.

26:

Last radio show of the semester...

30 November 2008

25: sleep to dream

I am lazy and still tired from the busy week, so I took this with Photo Booth on my computer, but then Poladroided it. I think this program is my favorite discovery.

I had a busy few days with lots of staying up late and getting up early. On Wednesday, I drove to Chicago and got in at 1am. Thursday was Thanksgiving and I stayed up late after the family dinner catching up with old friends. I spent Friday showing Alex and Adam around downtown Chicago, followed by a delicious steak dinner at one of my favorite restaurants. Yesterday Alex and I drove back, then saw ReadyGoes and White Light Riot at the (packed) Entry. We probably should've gone to bed instead, but we could not resist the RG/WLR combo.

24: christmas reflections

Taken while waiting to get to the top of the Hancock Center in Chicago.

27 November 2008

23: thanksgiving

Okay, so this isn't really a self-portrait since my sister took it, but oh well. My cousin Matt wanted to be in my blog.

25 November 2008

22: morning radio

I got someone to cover my radio show last night so I could go to the Weaver at the Loom/Low vs. Diamond/Barcelona show at the Varsity. I can't remember the last time I went to a show that early. It started at 6 and was done by 9. It was nice though because I had time to hang out with my roommate and hit the gym after I got home. The show itself was fun. I got to hang a little with Sara who I hadn't seen for awhile and I helped out one of her friends who just got a Nikon D60. Also, I adore Barcelona and they were fabulous. Listening to them reminds me of being in Australia, as their album was constantly on repeat during my daily bus commute to and from Parliament. They toured with my amigos This World Fair this summer, so I saw them a ridiculous amount (From Milwaukee to Minneapolis to Chicago to Madison to San Francisco...it was a good summer).

Speaking of which, I have not gone on any crazy music road trips this semester. It's weird. I haven't even been back to Illinois since Lollapalooza. I don't really miss it too much either. Minnesota has stolen my heart.

23 November 2008

21: it's hip to be square

I swear I will solve this someday. I can do the top layer in a little over a minute though....

17 November 2008

18: you are what you eat

I fell back in love with my Egg Muffin Toaster, a brilliant contraption that coordinates the toasting of an english muffin and the poaching of an egg. In the dorms, it was good, in a kitchen, a whole new level of amazing is possible.

Naturally, it broke a few days later. It has been replaced with an egg poaching pan, which is cool, but nowhere near as fabulous.

13 November 2008

17: lazy

Photoboothed last night when I decided it would be a better idea to talk on the phone than work on either of the papers I have due tomorrow or even take a decent picture.

I should brush my hair before doing these, clearly.

10 November 2008

04 November 2008

11 & 12: don't forget the flowers, someday, i know you will

I did three yesterday to make up for days missed.

My boyfriend brought me dinosaur flowers. They are pretty and we are dorks.

10: hoping that we're gonna make a move to the left

Election Day. Voting = free cookie.

Four years ago I voted for Obama for senator and now for president.

03 November 2008

9: another song the radio won't like

9/365 another song the radio won't like

Where I spend my Monday nights from 6-8. Doing a radio show solo is quite boring. My co-host bailed. Grrr.

02 November 2008

8: something looks different

redo of my first picture, this time with carved pumpkins (except mine is just wearing a hat since the roommates carved them while i was out of town). the lighting sucks, but oh well.

31 October 2008

7: cereal killer

7/365 Cereal Killer

Last minute costume (and picture, taken about 1 minute before I headed downtown). It turned out better than I thought.

27 October 2008

5: blame it on gravity

5/365

4: can i just graduate already?

4/365 can i just graduate already?

So I've missed a few days in a row...oops. This is one reason why. And yes, I totally took this with Photo Booth.

Also, I don't think I'm going to do self-portraits every day. I'm not that vain and it will get boring fast.

22 October 2008

3: i sip on dreams and choke on real things

3/365 i sip on dreams and choke on real things

I have been listening to No Doubt all night, so I used my Gwen mug for coffee. I almost only drink coffee at night. I am strange.

I got to use my fancy wireless remote, which only works with my old camera. Oh well.

21 October 2008

2: baby, it's cold outside

2/365 baby, it's cold outside

It is not in focus, but I am too tired to redo it or care.

My apartment is freezing. Sometimes I wear this hat inside, which is ridiculous, but it keeps me warm and reminds me of my adventures with Lindsey in Phillip Island (Victoria, Australia) and fairy penguins.

20 October 2008

1: you're daddy's little pumpkin, i can tell by the way you roll

1/365 i can tell by the way you roll

Our apartment is starting to look like a pumpkin patch and I love it. There are six pumpkins in our dining room. These four were stolen from a flea market down the street in the middle of the night by Alex, Adam, and myself.
